நல்ல எழுத்தைப் படிக்கும்போது உற்சாகம் தொற்றிக் கொள்கிறது.
பட பட வென்று அடித்துக் கொண்டு பறக்கும் ஹம்மிங் பறவையை விவரித்து, நாவலில் படித்து முடித்தும் உட்காராத கதாபத்திரங்கள் போல் மறையாமல், துண்டு விரித்து வேலி கட்டி ஃப்ளாட் போடுகிறது.
செய்திகள் எவ்வாறு முக்கியம் என்று அலசும் இளம் நிருபரின் ராக்கால லாப்ஸ்டர் ஷிஃப்ட் வாழ்க்கைக்கு வெளிச்சம் கொடுத்தது.
முதல் கட்டுரை - கவிதை போல் மிகையின்றி செதுக்கிய வரிகள் என்றால்; முகத்தில் அறையும் எட்டாம் பக்க மூலையின் 150 வார்த்தைகள் எவ்வாறு செதுக்கப் படுகிறது என்று அமரிக்கையாக விவரிக்கும் இரண்டாம் கட்டுரை - கானாங்குருவி கண்ணி.

You learn to decipher with a sense of what’s going to make the paper.”
2. Brian Doyle's "Joyas Voladores": So much held in a heart in a day, an hour, a moment.
